Abstract

The “implied meaning” and “vigorous and firm” are aesthetic theories emulated from the "Book of Changes" by Liu Xie and Si Kongtu. The earliest philosophy of the "Book of Changes" was presented in the form of poetry, not in abstract style (representing a meaning, it no longer has the other meaning), like prosess deduced in order. Surfaces with the hexagram are fragmented and leaping, not one by one, but are all connected with emotional and ideological clues. This is a critical feature when we are reading the "Book of Changes.” It seems hard to understand the delightful, obscure and profound ideas in the mysterious imagery poems. Since poetry is structured without prose description, but performed with another form of art, it could not be explained by Teacher's thinking in his prose. One of the modern symbolists, Valery (Paul Valery, 1871 ~ 1945), said: "Poetry is not as devastating as prose." Earlier than that, a Chinese critic Xie Zhen (1495-1575), said: "Poetry is solvable and also unsolvable, but the true significance is that 'it's unnecessarily solvable.'"Zhong Xing (1574 - 1624) also said: "In poetry where there are no sparkles, there is the ultimate beauty." Therefore, is that true that the deepest meanings within poetry must be quirky, intentionally hazy, and difficult to understand? Every poet has his own mystic thinking and cultural background. How could we trace their imaginary world to explore their mysterious thinking? In this paper, we focus on the "implied meaning" and "vigorous and firm" as the poetic features, and take a look into Feiming and Shu Ting's poems, exploring their poetry and their religious sympathy.
